Senior Services

TJFS seeks to maintain the independence and dignity of seniors, through services that address the physical and emotional challenges of aging.

Our Senior Services staff, including licensed social workers and case managers, specialize in senior issues. Professional staff can also assist adult children with resources and options.

Counseling: We offer help for the senior adult, single or married, who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, or adjustment difficulties due to losses, illness, financial issues, or other life stressors. Senior adults are seen at the TJFS office or at senior facilities.

Senior CareLink: In today’s mobile society, families often live far apart.  Senior CareLink, a care management program can be there when you can’t. Senior CareLink strives to enhance the well-being of older adults and their families by assessing needs and providing ongoing support.  Caring, experienced Geriatric Care Managers connect older adults and their family members with information and resources to maximize a satisfying quality of life.

Jettsetters: In partnership with the Tampa JCC, TJFS offers  social and educational programming every other Thursday for our seniors.

Jewish Outreach: Residents are remembered at holiday time with special gift bags. TJFS also  provides weekly Friday afternoon pre-Shabbat services at Weinberg Village.

Social Services Coordination: Our senior social services coordinators  assist residents of select independent-living  facilities.  Our staff also provides information and referral services to those seniors living in the community attempting to “age in place.”
