Volunteer Programs
Did you know that when you volunteer for Tampa Jewish Family Services you can accrue hours for requirements such as Bar and Bat Mitzvah projects, Junior High School and High School graduation requirements and most court ordered community service hour mandates?
Helping the agency is also a wonderful way to be involved in the community, meet new people and do good for others.
If you would like to volunteer your time for one event or 10, 2 hours or 20 hours we need you. Please TJFS at 813.960.1848 to discuss the many opportunities available.
Our volunteers are an integral part of our agency. It is due to their commitment that we are able to do many of the things we do for the community.
The programs that depend on volunteers provide both the giver and the recipient an opportunity to feel a true sense of caring. The following are programs dependent on volunteers:
Friendly Visitors - provide support and encouragement to individuals who are isolated, living in an assisted living facility or nursing home. At the present time the program is limited to residents of Weinberg Village Assisted Living Facilty on the JCC campus.
Food Bank - sort, pack and transport food both from our in-house pantry and our off-site warehouse to the community.
Office/Clerical - under the supervision of our Office Manager, assist with mailings, reception desk duties and other special projects.
