The Verizon Foundation, one of TJFS’ generous donors, remains steadfast in its commitment to end domestic violence. Their dedicated employee volunteers are critical resources to many of the organizations working to increase awareness of domestic violence and offer support to victims. The video, entitled ‘Monsters,’ was created with support from the National Domestic Violence Hotline and sheds light on the effects of domestic violence in the home, through the innocent eyes of a child. Studies suggest that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence each year. And as the video notes, girls who witness abuse are more likely to be abused later in life, and boys are twice as likely to abuse their own partners - “because that’s the world they know.”
