Winter Holiday Gift Donations

During the week of December 21st, TJFS filled the wish lists of over 50 families and over 100 seniors with the help of local synagogues. By working together, many families from our community donated toys, clothes, household essentials and personal care products for our food bank clients.
This impact of our community’s kindness was clear by the reactions of the recipients. As one mother said, after receiving her gifts with tears in her eyes, “This is truly overwhelming. Thank you so much for your generosity. Thank you….thank you…thank you!”
Tampa Bay Hanukkah Toy Drive

On Wedneday, 
December 9, 2009, Tampa Bay Lightning hosted their 3rd Annual Jewish Heritage Night. Those in attendance were encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Jewish Family Services. Those who donated were entered to win an autographed Jeff Halpern hockey stick. Over 50 gifts were collected and will be distributed to families who cannot afford to give their children gifts this holiday season.

Sack Hunger 2009

TJFS collected $1000 and over a ton of food
The Glazer Family Foundation and Raymond James Financial teamed up again this year on Sunday, November 22, 2009 for the “Sack Hunger” food drive during the Buccaneers home game again the New Orleans Saints. Tampa Jewish Family Services was one of 4 local food banks chosen as the recipients of nonperishable food and monetary donations collected.
