Debbie Doliner, President
What surprised me most about TJFS, since coming in new as president this past summer?
- Few people in Tampa really understand what TJFS does, and we do so much good! (We are trying to improve our visibility with some strong marketing efforts.)
- Our Community Food Bank distributed more than 2,600 bags of food last year, and the need just keeps rising. We are the only food bank in the area that does not have restrictions on how many times a family can receive food.
- Our Counseling Department often has a wait list. We are looking for satellite offices so we can meet the growing need.
- Our Senior CareLink program is amazing and I can’t imagine any adult child who is trying to care for a senior family member not using this care management program – it will make their lives so much easier.
- Our TIKVAH Talk educational program for families with special needs is highly appreciated by the sometimes near-desperate parents who need information to help them care for their special children.
- Our Tampa Job Links is a vocational network that can get one’s resume in front of the right prospective employee most effectively
Financially, we run a tight operation, with only cents of every dollar donated being used for administrative expenses. Our board is looking forward to elevating our TJFS so that our many programs can assist many more families of all faiths in the Tampa area. I am proud and pleased to be serving an organization where loving kindness abounds!
